Parallel design

One of the core activities, according to the literature, is suggesting multiple ideas for a product for meeting our target groups requirements. In the early part of the design process we divided our group into two sub-groups with the purpose of each sub-group to present one conceptual model for a prototype that appeals to the user, that is called parallel design. The conceptual model describes what the end product should do, behave and look like.


Group 1:

We, Sofie and Axel, have done the Parallel Design together and came up with two ideas based on better visualizations in the apps which already exists.

Later in the week we will sit together with the whole group and discuss all the proposals we now have, from the perspective of our personas and their user needs.

Hopefully we will be able to pick out the best ideas and continue to develop this design idea before the next exercise.

Group 2:

A few days later the second half of the group met up to do their parallel design suggestion.
The second suggestion to the parallel-design:
Passenger Density Light Strip, aka "PDLS" or "PADELS"
Additionally, this could be an app for people who require even more instantaneous information about their specific train:
