Think Aloud (Hanna)

Summary: My brother, age 18, thought it was hard to understand things at first, but after a while it got easier. But some of the things he "understood" I'm not sure he really understood at all.

For example he liked the map, but I think misunderstood it (I didn't really understand it myself). He said about the map: "Ok, this was a very good map. I understand that the train is stuck on Karlberg station. That must mean that I can see the train right now." But in reality the train was stuck between Stockholm C and Karlberg., and wouldn't be seen at all.

He thought the information about the type of carriage was unnecessary.

He wanted to be able to write where he was going instead of where he was currently standing.

He didn't se the light strip until after about 7 minutes.

Transcription:

"Next towards Stockholm, here...

I don't really understand.. now I see, I'm supposed to look here. Not that many people in the middle (looks at the picture of people in the train, not the light strip). But the rest of the information makes me confused. Type of carriage, not really something I would care about.

But is it standing between Karlberg and Stockholm central, then I'm not at Karlberg? Because it already passed me..?

What does 11 minutes mean, is it that it comes to Karlberg in 11 minutes? That's how it must be, but it feels a bit weird when I'm just going in right here.

But apart from that the information was wrong it was pretty good information. That it says what the problem is and when it is estimated to arrive. It actually says when it comes to me and when it comes to where I want to go. But how does it know where I want to go? But it's good information anyway. You learn to use this fast.

What happens when I press here? (Clicks at the map-icon). Ok, this was a very good map. I understand that the train is stuck on Karlberg station. That must mean that I can see the train right now.

Loudness level? Oh so it is the loudness of the people on the train? But does that mean that where there is many people there is quiet?

I guess there isn't much more for me to understand here, I got the information I wanted."
